AEROGEL CORE Ltd.

Aerogel Core is an advanced materials company developing graphene and bio-based aerogels for applications where thermal performance, acoustic control and low weight are critical.

We work with customers in aerospace, marine and automotive markets to solve engineering challenges that conventional material systems often struggle to address.

Built to turn advanced materials into commercial opportunity

Founded in 2022, Aerogel Core was spun out at the University of Bath and brings together deep expertise in materials science, aerospace engineering and applied technology development.

What makes us different?

Bio-based and graphene-based material innovation

We are developing graphene-based materials and bio-based aerogels designed to deliver strong thermal and acoustic performance while supporting lower-carbon material pathways.

Acoustic performance by design

We combine materials development with acoustic engineering expertise, including the ability to design and tune performance for specific frequency ranges.

From technology development to practical delivery

We do not stop at research. Aerogel Core supports customers through materials development, acoustic consultancy, testing and prototyping, helping move ideas towards real engineering use.

Credibility and traction

Aerogel Core has already gained early recognition for both its technology and commercial promise:

- Founded in 2022 and spun out at the University of Bath (I-Cure)

- Bath Start-Up of the Year 2024

- South West Start-Up of the year finalist 2024

- TRIG 2025 CSA Award winner for a marine aerogel development project (Connected Places Catapult and Department for Transport)

Our current product pipeline includes aerospace and a marine-focused products that are in the early stages of development.

Alongside product development, we have delivered acoustic consultancy projects with Tier 1 automotive OEMs and specialist entities in the creative sector, including confidential programmes where acoustic performance is business-critical.

 Leadership and technical foundation

Aerogel Core combines deep technical capability with commercial ambition. The team brings together advanced materials research experience from major industrial technology programmes and universities with more than a decade of aerospace engineering, applied R&D and start-up development experience.

This blend of scientific depth and application-led engineering gives Aerogel Core a strong foundation for technology translation, customer engagement and future growth.

Where we focus
Our near-term commercial focus is on sectors where lightweight, high-performance materials can create the greatest value:

Aerospace

Marine and maritime clean energy

Automotive

These sectors are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency, reduce weight, manage sound and lower environmental impact. We believe Aerogel Core is well positioned to help meet that demand.

Why Aerogel Core?
We are building a business at the intersection of advanced materials, acoustic engineering and clean growth.

For customers, that means practical support with difficult thermal and acoustic challenges. For investors, it means exposure to a scalable platform addressing large industrial markets with increasing demand for lightweight, lower-carbon performance materials.
